Well, every year the City does a Fireworks show at the Stadium. We drove out to an empty field, and parked there at 8pm. The fireworks usually start between 8 and 8:30. Well, a big storm system decided to move in around 7:30. So we figured they would delay the show. As we were sitting there, they sent up a couple testers, and then nothing...for another HOUR...we just sat there in our car for an hour and a half until finally going home!
About 3 years ago, Chris and a friend went to New Mexico, and bought fireworks of their own. So when we got home, Chris decided to fire some up! The neighbors came out and watched, and one guy down the street yelled "Finally some stinkin' fire works!" (Obviously he had been waiting near the stadium too.) It was fun. But nothing like the big show!
Around 10:30, we hear Boom, Boom, BOOM outside. Yep, you guessed it. They started the show...super, SUPER late. But needless to say the kiddo's were already in bed, so we didn't jump in our car to go there!
So, 4th Of July 2008...no Fireworks for us! There's always next year!
